One of the most dramatic, heroic, and beloved paintings is Eugene Delacroix's famous painting, Liberty Leading the People. Different anime artists have made parodies of it:
It is so interesting to see the unusual posts in your blog. I don't think I have ever seen any of these, except for the original. All are interesting art interpretations.
Yes! These images inform artists till today. They are Art Icons.
I'm thinking on the visual meme of heroes casually walking away in the foreground from explosions in the background. This is is every action film, and now even car commercials. Ringing any bells from your art explorations?
I think we all have things in life that we want to blow up and walk away from. Hence the inner response of the audience to this visual meme.
My name is Angélique (or Angel). I'm a Cajun native of New Orleans, LA. I'm a
blonde in my learly 30's. I'm married and full-time stay at home mommy of a daughter. Politically, I'm independent, with contrarian leanings.
I still have some traces of my Cajun/Yat accent despite having been in the groves of academe.
I hope you won't mind my odd sense of humor.

Vive la ... France? Japan? Exposed breast?
it's a rather gruesome painting to parody - looks like they have toned down the violence aspect.
